Sir Sylvester Chukwuemeka Azubuike Nlemedim
Sir Nlemedim is an accomplished administrator and community leader with more than 35 years of service in the Imo State Civil Service, where he rose to become the first Agwa indigene to attain the rank of Director of Administration and Finance.
His educational background includes a B.Sc. in Sociology (1987) and an M.Sc. in Industrial Sociology and Personnel Management (2005) from Imo State University. He also holds an LLB (Hons) in Law (2022) from the National Open University of Nigeria and an Advanced Management Certificate (2000) from the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON).
Over the course of his career, Sir Nlemedim held several leadership roles, including Director of Administration/Finance across multiple Local Government Councils, Director of Protocol at the Government House, Owerri, and Director of Administration/Finance at the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources. He also served as National President of the Obudi-Agwa Development Union (2001–2005), cementing his role as a unifying figure in the community.
He has received multiple awards and recognitions, including Fellowships from the Chartered Institute of Corporate Administration and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries/Administrators, as well as community honors such as the title Pillar of Christ the King Parish, Agwa. A devout Catholic and Knight of St. John International (KSJI), Sir Nlemedim is deeply committed to youth mentorship, community development, and good governance.
